Giuliano Covezzi was formed as a Luthier at the Workshop of Lodi Brothers, where he developed a strong interest for historical instruments, particularly for those of Antonio de Torres, Santos Hernandez and Enrique Garcia.
The peculiarity of this Guitar Maker, however, lies in the fact that he directly examined the Guitars of these great artisans, receiving a unique constructive enrichment, wheres the majority of his Colleagues realise their Copies just looking at drawings.
The Instrument presented here is a copy inspired by the Torres SE-104, and was thought to resemble particularly to the Original.
The woods are Val di Fiemme spruce on the top, back and sides are in a beautiful cypress; it shows a Torres-style rosette with 650 mm string length.
It is important to note that, in the days of the Great of Almeria, cypress wood was not considered exclusive ‘for flamenco’: in fact, Torres, built several Guitars in cypress.
